Part III: Man up! You two work together. Men and Women

Eph 5:22-24 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. NIV

Deut 15:6-For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you. NIV

God has given the man the authority of his home meaning  I think, that after all has been considered, it is left to the man to determine what is best for his family.    I do not think most women, including myself, would allow the man this authority unless God had commanded us to do so.

The reality is, if men want what they have a God- given right to, they’d better use it, or they will lose it. A good place to start is in their family’s finances.

At the time of this writing our country is about to go over a fiscal cliff. Our national debt is at an unconscionable level.   Our politicians, people ostensibly elected for the people’s good, have made excuses and procrastinated over and over and over. “Our good” has been sacrificed for “their good” and for their lack of moral, financial and political discipline.  It is a deplorable situation that the American people must not, no matter what the cost, tolerate.  Now, more than at any time since World War II, the United States of America must look at the reality of her financial situation and realize that we must pay the price for having used credit and haste to live ahead of ourselves for too long. We must stop spending money, pay our bills, and demand that politicians do the same.

America must man-up and make the self- imposed decisions to get our own homes in order. House by house, this must begin with the one person who is hardwired to make these tough decisions and who is anointed to do so…the man.

It is the man who must first say, “No. We cannot afford that.”  The man who stands and says, “We will not buy this now, but we will wait.”  It is up to the man to say “no” at the times when it is most difficult  ̶  and it is his wife’s responsibility to support him.

The Bible says that God’s people are to lend, but never borrow, to rule over many but to never let any rule over us.  This is the role of our Christian country, the United States of America. It begins in the homes of our land, and in each home, God says that it is supposed to begin with the man.
